You, as a foster parent will have the responsibility of maintaining your own training record. The Washoe County Department of Social Services mandates thirty-six (36) hours of pre-service training for licensure and four (4) hours of training for family foster homes, twenty (20) hours of training for therapeutic foster homes prior to re-licensing for each foster home. Please complete this form and submit it to your licensing worker. SAFF Education/Activity Funds Reimbursement Form SAFF provides up to $200 per calendar year for foster children to participate in educational, self esteem building and skill building activities outside of the required school curriculum. Complete the form and attach a copy of the receipt. Please be sure to call (775)828-9977 if you aren't sure if the activity will be covered.
